The Unclaimed Property Division’s mission is to return unclaimed property to its rightful owners.
The State Treasury seeks an Administrative Specialist Senior for the Claims Section of the Unclaimed Property Division. This role requires interpreting and applying laws and regulations to processes, as well as in approving complex claims, including those involving stocks and mutual funds to ensure property is returned to its rightful owner.
The ideal candidate has research experience and can verify claims with supporting documentation. In thisrole, the candidate will use attention to detail and analytical skills to help individuals recover property they may not realize they have. The role is rewarding, as many claimants appreciate the property being foundand returned to them, and the customer service provided by the staff throughout the claims process.
This position will work with a supportive team that collaborates to achieve the division’s mission, especially during peak periods.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing professional administrative support to constituents with inquiries concerning Unclaimed Property.
- Initiating claims per Kentucky statutes and regulations.
- Processing, reviewing, and approving claims.
- Communicating with constituents by phone, email, or in person.
- Processing incoming mail.
- Managing multiple claims and maintaining organization.
- Prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient property return.
- Generating, reviewing, and issuing payments.
- Processing reports.
- Initiating outreach services.

Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
