The Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations (OUIO) administers Ohio's unemployment insurance program, which provides short-term income to unemployed workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. It reduces the hardship felt by families during periods of temporary unemployment and bolsters the local economies by maintaining the purchasing power of the unemployed worker. In this role, you will help employers file and pay unemployment taxes and explain their statements and bills. You will use our internal system, The SOURCE, to handle both routine and complex tax cases.

Your daily work includes answering employer questions by phone, email, and in person; explaining unemployment tax laws; and resolving account issues. You will also set up and update accounts, add third-party agents, adjust wage reports, manage reimbursing accounts, verify IRS recertifications and process refunds, waivers, and tax payments.

The job can be challenging, especially when working with frustrated callers or learning the tax software. Strong attention to detail and good customer service skills are essential. You will need to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while balancing phone responsibilities with case processing. The position also includes a rotating travel requirement to work on-site in Columbus at 2098 Integrity Drive.

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m.

Location: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities
- Columbus, Akron, or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicant's home address.
