Assistant Professor, Mathematics

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction in undergraduate mathematics courses.
• Advise students and participate in curriculum development and assessment.
• Contribute to departmental and university service.
• Support student success through effective teaching and mentoring.
• Maintain currency in the mathematics discipline through ongoing professional development.
• Conduct office hours, participate in meetings, and collaborate with colleagues.

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Mathematics or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution by the date of appointment.
• Minimum of eighteen graduate semester hours in Mathematics consistent with SACSCOC faculty credentialing requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate mathematics courses effectively.
• Strong commitment to student learning, academic advising, and instructional excellence.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and contributing to the mission of Kentucky State University.
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
