Good Shepherd Catholic School is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled First Grade Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The ideal candidate is passionate about early elementary education, committed to academic excellence, and eager to support the mission of Catholic education.

As a key member of our elementary team, the First Grade Teacher will nurture students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth in a supportive and engaging classroom environment. Our young learners are energetic, curious, and eager to grow—this position is ideal for a teacher who can inspire a love of learning and help students build a strong educational foundation.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Designing and implementing engaging lessons aligned with standards in reading, writing, math, science, religion, and social studies
  • Teaching foundational literacy and math skills through hands-on, developmentally appropriate instruction
  • Creating a positive, nurturing, and faith-centered classroom environment
  • Assessing and tracking student progress, using data to guide instruction
  • Encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning
  • Collaborating with colleagues and participating in school life and activities
  • Communicating regularly with families about student progress and classroom expectations
  • Integrating Catholic values into teaching and daily interactions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field
  • Valid Kentucky teaching certification
  • Elementary teaching experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of early childhood and elementary instructional practices
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
