Summary

Of Responsibilities
  • Coordinates with Airport Board, Local Officials and Engineering Consultants in the administration of airport projects receiving federal and, or, state funding.
  • Insuring federal and state guidelines are being followed.
  • Evaluates airport construction project applications, reviews contract documents, and audits invoices for accuracy and compliance.
  • Reviews airport construction projects plans and technical specifications for projects to include but not limited to; runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, buildings, fuel systems, lighting systems, and FAA planning document (ALP, Master Plan…etc.).
  • Performs yearly airport inspection of general aviation airports.
  • Maintain airport master record for federal airport inspections.
  • Complete all required inspection documents.
  • Evaluates runway marking, seal coating and crack sealing projects to be completed by master agreement.
  • Processes delivery orders and inspects project construction as needed.
Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In
  • Experience in civil engineering studies, pavement design, grading, drainage, lighting, and utility systems.
  • Reviewing engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction schedules for compliance.
  • Monitored contractor performance, quantities, schedules, and budgets; reviewing pay applications and change orders.
  • Conducted on-site inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety requirements, and environmental permits
  • Prior aviation experience is a plus

Additional position information (travel required, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, sitting at a desk, etc.) Frequent single day travel required both in state vehicles and state aircraft. Occasional overnight travel required for conferences and training.
