Work Group: Corporate Planning and Accountability

FLSA Status: Non‑exempt

Reports to: Managing Director, Corporate Planning and Accountability

General Purpose of the Job

Responsible for tracking and managing various funding sources for KHC programs and corporate initiatives in accordance with federal and state guidelines. Performs financial tracking activities and processes fund disbursements for federal and state grant awards, federal tax credits, and reserved housing funds established by the corporation. Provides quality control functions of data integrity among multiple financial management systems. Keeps program funding process and procedures manual information updated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for data entry of project set‑up activities in several computer systems. Project set‑up includes assigning approved budgets to projects, processing budget modifications, disbursing funds, and processing project completion reports and close‑outs in accordance with federal and state guidelines. The project set‑up, fund disbursement, and close‑out process consists of updating KHC’s fund management software, HUD’s required systems, and creating vouchers in accounting software.
  • Produces reconciliation reports monthly to confirm reliability of software systems and financial records. Keeps program funding process and procedures manual information updated.
  • Assists in end of year close out of fiscal and grant activities. Tracks and provides data necessary for MBE/WBE report to HUD at fiscal year‑end.
  • Serve as back‑up to the Program Funding Administrator, as needed.

Additional Information: Position requires knowledge of MS Office Suite product. Position requires ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people, including external contacts as well as cross‑departmental teams; ability to work in a team and as an individual to gain consensus; ability to multitask; ability to deal effectively with conflict; ability to plan and present ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Education

Requirements

This level of knowledge would normally be acquired through completion of an associate’s degree program in business or accounting from an accredited college or university. A minimum of two years’ related experience may be substituted for the degree requirements.

Experience Requirements

Position requires a minimum of one year’s experience working in a responsible position in a professional office environment, preferably with experience in bookkeeping, accounting or secretarial assignments involving advanced record keeping. Experience with federal housing programs preferred, but not required.

Can write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Has the ability to get messages across that have the desired effect.
