Position Summary

Under general direction of the Director of Public Works, this management position is responsible for City buildings and facilities maintenance operations; performs related work as required.

Essential Functions
  • Administers, inspects, maintains contact with, and/or oversees service contracts, construction projects, facilities, properties, and equipment.
  • Manages assigned City Building and Facilities Maintenance operations.
  • Assigns and oversees work of Building Maintenance Tech staff.
  • Develops written cost estimates, prepares specifications, and administers contracts related to building and facilities maintenance.
  • As authorized, chairs, serves on, and/or represents City on various department, city, and public committees.
  • Communicates with appropriate agencies as needed.
  • Evaluates division operations and recommends necessary changes to the Director of Public Works.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of long‑range plans, annual objectives, and department budget.
  • Addresses public issues, complaints, and requests.
  • Prepares reports, documentation, and presentations as required.
  • Receives complaints and attends to their disposition or forwards to the Public Works Director.
  • Carries out special projects on behalf of the Director of Public Works.
