By joining the Division of Waste Management, Planning Program and Administration Branch, Program Development Section as an Environmental Scientist II in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to analyze federal and state laws and regulations to determine the impact on agency programs and other related duties needed within the Program Development Section for the Division of Waste Management.
- Provide support and technical oversight, coordinate, analyze and draft waste management regulations,regulatory impact analyses and associated documents; draft initial response to comments after public hearing and statement of consideration to meet the policies/procedures of the division for supervisory review. Process the submittal of regulation packages. Perform technical duties in the development of reporting mechanisms.
- Coordinate information and interact with, gather information from and with supervisor approval, provide information to division and cabinet staff, management, other government agencies, regulated community and general public as it pertains to the Federal Register.
- Formulate a review/research of federal/state regulations, control technology documents and other data asneeded to ensure compliance with agency guidelines and makes recommendations for program to supervisor.
- Prepare for and schedule public hearings, compile responses to comments and compile comments on proposed federal regulation changes.
- Serve as liaison with management to facilitate the administration of program policies and procedures.
