Position: EMERGENCY RESOURCE TECHNICIAN

Work experience in emergency dispatching is preferred but not necessary. We offer training in-house to help you succeed in becoming a dispatcher.

Must have a high school education or equivalent and no criminal convictions. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.

Essential Qualities
  • Active listening skills, multi-tasking, good written and verbal communication.
  • Dispatchers need to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency while remaining calm.
  • Under supervision, this job requires the Dispatcher to operate a radio and computer equipment, while processing phone calls and radio traffic.
Job Duties
  • Answering emergency and non-emergency phone lines
  • Obtaining pertinent information to pass along to responders
  • Operating radio and computer equipment
  • Provides standardized emergency medical instructions to callers using a medical protocol
  • Making decisions in a timely manner with little information
  • Work with Police, Fire and EMS agencies
  • Assisting public and other agencies with disaster responses
  • Demonstrates regular attendance
  • Operate NCIC/LEADS inquires as requested by Law Enforcement agencies
