Responsibilities- Leading a section of up to 10 staff, guiding their daily work activities as well as helping them attaintheir career goals.
- Entering and auditing complex sentences for felony convictions.
- Reviewing and approving inmate releases.
- Interpreting and applying policy, statutes and regulations.
- Planning and conducting training for the Offender Information Services section as well as other Corrections staff.
- Acting as a liaison between other Departmental staff and Offender Information Services branch.
- Responding to correspondence from offenders and other agencies.
- Maintaining confidential files, records, and information.
- Cross training with other sections to strengthen the team environment.
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR
SKILLS:
Two years of experience in management, administration, legal, paralegal, or offender records.
Substitute EDUCATION for
EXPERIENCE:
NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for
EDUCATION:
Administrative, management, legal, paralegal, law enforcement, or offender records experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in an office setting.
Probationary Period:
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
