As a member of the Kentucky State Police Information Technology Branch, you will be the supervisor of the Criminal Justice (CJIS) Support Section. You will serve as an administrator for the KSP CJIS Systems, Servers, Storage, Backups, Networks, and Data Center locations. Base

Location:

Frankfort (Franklin County).

• Supervises first-line supervisors and other employees involved with the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Branch (ITB)/CJIS Support Section.
• Provides management assistance in the branch's planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Approves time and attendance and conducts evaluations.
• Administrator for all KSP’s IT infrastructure in coordination with the Commonwealth Office of Technology (COT) and the KSP Information Technology Branch Manager.
• Coordinates with vendors and COT dealing with servers, storage, systems, backups, and networks.
• Main administrator for all KSP’s servers, storage, systems, backups, and network systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Will report to the Information Technology Branch Manager.

• Experience with servers, storage, systems, networks, and backup applications.
• Technical troubleshooting.
• Customer service.
• Able to lift and move heavy objects (50 pounds).
• Operate a state vehicle.

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree OR a graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree in information technology or related field OR certification in an IT-related field.

Four years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems.

A master's degree in computer science will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Two years of additional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, computer operations, business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the education requirement.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
