Job Title: Senior SQL Server DBA
Location: Frankfort, KY
Duration: Long‑term Indefinite Contract

• Serve as Microsoft SQL Server Administrator, monitoring and optimizing database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning. Managing database security, user access, encryption, backup.
• Provide technical expertise for data administration, database programming, and CABINET’s Line of Business (LOB) applications, including mentoring development staff on SQL optimization and performance enhancements.
• Design, develop, modify, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports; collaborate with business users and analysts to gather reporting requirements and deliver accurate, efficient reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production database, LOB, and data integrity issues; provide technical support to development teams and serve as a subject matter expert in data integration functions.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to evaluate user requirements and support the application development and data needs.
• Communicate complex technical concepts, processes, and solutions effectively to technical staff, non‑technical users, vendors, and other state organizations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Five (5) years of experience as a Database Administrator – Senior role.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management software, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server.
• Knowledge of database design principles, data modelling, data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and reporting tools Tableau and Workiva/Wdata.
• Solid problem‑solving skills with a proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex database, application, and data integrity issues.
• Skill in analyzing technical requirements and implementing effective database and application solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business and technical needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
