This position reports to:

Hub Division Manager
- Energy Industries, Americas

Leads the Operations function for Energy Industries across HUB Americas, providing strategic and functional direction across the end-to-end delivery value chain. The role aligns and enables local divisions and operations teams across project management and controls, project engineering, field service, supply chain and procurement, quality, planning and fulfillment, and continuous improvement. It establishes common operating standards, scales technology and AI-enabled ways of working, deploys tools and best practices across the HUB, and drives consistent execution, customer outcomes, productivity, quality, cash and risk performance.

The role ensures compliance with ABB policies and all applicable health, safety, integrity and regulatory requirements.

Hybrid work model. Candidate must be based in the Americas region.

This role is contributing to the HUB Americas group for Energy Industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate Division and HUB strategy into an integrated Americas Operations strategy, operating model, priorities and measurable action plans, while enabling local divisions to meet their market and customer commitments.
  • Provide functional leadership and governance across the end-to-end operations value chain, including project management and controls, engineering, field service, supply chain and procurement, quality, planning and fulfillment, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain common HUB operating standards, processes, decision rights, performance routines and controls. Reduce unnecessary variation while preserving justified country and customer requirements.
  • Own the identification, validation, deployment and adoption of operations tools, digital technologies, automation and responsible AI use cases that improve execution quality, productivity, forecasting, cycle time, knowledge reuse and customer responsiveness.
  • Build a scalable deployment model for new tools and practices, including pilots, business-value cases, governance, change management, training, adoption measures, feedback loops and replication across countries and functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, operations management or a related discipline; advanced degree is an advantage.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in operations, project execution, engineering, service, supply chain or related industrial leadership, including significant multi-country or regional responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional operations in a matrix environment and influencing senior stakeholders across countries and cultures.
  • Strong understanding of project-based industrial businesses and the end-to-end delivery value chain, including project management and controls, engineering, field service, procurement and supply chain, quality, planning and working capital.
  • Proven experience establishing common operating standards, governance, performance routines and continuous-improvement systems across multiple organizational units.
  • Experience leading technology-enabled operating-model change, including digital platforms, workflow automation, analytics, deployment tools and AI-enabled use cases.
  • Ability to translate emerging technology into prioritized business use cases with clear value measures, controlled pilots, adoption plans and scale or stop decisions.
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI, data governance, cybersecurity, access controls and change-management principles relevant to industrial and operational environments.
