CNC Machine Operator – Entry Level
2nd shift 3 p.m - 11 p .m. and 3rd shift 11p.m.
- 7 am. Sun-TH
Entry-level employment opportunity for CNC Machine Operator: seeking candidates willing to learn to operate conventional computer numerical control machines (CNC) performing various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, reaming, boring, milling and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces. Individuals who are willing to learn and who have a strong work ethic have the opportunity to move up quickly and establish a career in precision CNC machining.
BackgroundRequirements
Basic knowledge of shop math and machine tool capabilities preferred; knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments is not required but is beneficial.
Essential FunctionsOperates one or more machines while maintaining machine efficiencies and ensuring product quality. Observes operation and enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Discusses control media errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems. Observes machine operation for malfunctions and notifies supervisor when machine repair is required.
Verifies conformance to specifications ensuring consistent quality throughout the production run using such instruments as plug and ring gauges, calipers, comparators and micrometers. Responsible for compliance to inspection plans. Analyzes data using statistical process control techniques.
Performs planned maintenance including lubrication. Assists in performing machine maintenance. May clean machine, tooling, and parts. May assist in loading and unloading scrap/shavings and stock from trucks.
Keeps work area clean and orderly. Removes chips from machine or conveyor as necessary. Effectively segregates scrap from good product.
Regularly shows up for work and arrives on time.
May mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine. May select and install cutting tools in machine. May load program by computer in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from database. May edit the program as necessary. May start machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions. May stop machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
Effectively and satisfactorily performs particular job responsibilities, including meeting all physical requirements. Performs all other duties, as required by supervisor. Works safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

Physical RequirementsMust be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
