TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Job . Pay package based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Responsibilities

As an ICU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring patients in an ICU setting, providing direct care, documenting, implementing care plans, and delegating to other providers as appropriate. You will also provide education and support to patient families and possibly for long-term care needs.

  • Provide basic bedside care.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
  • Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work, and interpret reports.
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays.
  • Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing.
  • Communicate patients' conditions to family members.
Physical Requirements

ICU Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. They should be able to easily lift 20 pounds, and may need to lift up to 50 pounds y may face hazards from exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases and will treat patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Qualifications

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH. Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience.

Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
