Registered Nurse - General Surgery Nights

This role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences, adhering to ethical standards and scope of practice.

• Assessment:
  Conduct holistic evaluations of patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs, recognizing abnormal data and ensuring safety.
• Diagnosis and Planning:
  Identify patient problems, develop prioritized, measurable care plans collaboratively with patients and families, and communicate effectively during handoffs and care conferences.
• Implementation:
  Deliver evidence-based care, delegate appropriately, educate patients and families, respond swiftly to emergencies, and maintain a safe environment.
• Evaluation:
  Continuously assess the effectiveness of interventions, adjust care plans, and ensure continuity during handoffs and transfers.
• Documentation:
  Accurately record care activities, patient responses, and education in the electronic medical record timely and concisely.
• Leadership and Professional Development:
  Demonstrate leadership by mentoring peers, participating in committees, quality improvement projects, and maintaining professional growth through certifications and community involvement.

Ohio RN licensure, current BLS certification, ACLS within 6 months for certain areas, and area-specific certifications within five years. Education requirements vary, with a preference for BSN or higher degrees. The role requires effective communication, cultural competence, adaptability, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
