Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually
The APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) role is critical in ensuring the successful development and launch of new products by coordinating quality planning activities across cross-functional teams. This position focuses on driving the APQP process to meet customer requirements, reduce risks, and ensure product quality from concept through production. The role involves collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to develop and implement robust quality plans and control measures.
The APQP specialist will analyze potential failure modes, oversee corrective actions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations. Ultimately, this role aims to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget, enhancing customer satisfaction and company reputation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Attend and conduct technical meetings as needed to fulfill job duties
- Understand requirements via the customer's quality manual
- Be directly involved with Design and Project groups for new programs
- Engage in APQP activities with Manufacturing Engineering and Design groups for new model and engineering change points
- Participate in cross-functional teams to create new model Inspection plan, PFMEA and Control Plan
- Update and maintain APQP documents including PFMEA and Control Plan
- Understand Poke Yoke and verification with Red Rabbits
- Participate in execution of testing and inspection as required
- Facilitate the completion of ISR and provide full and timely submission to the customer
- Create and maintain QVA, Subcontractor Registration, traceability plan based on customer's requirements
- Understand how to navigate and submit all details and requirements within customer portal
- Conduct analysis and present new model reflection to management team
- Act as liaison to customer, SQA and QCNM for assigned projects
- Attend ECN meeting to ensure incorporation of engineering requirements into NSA process documents
- Provide support as needed at Customer or Supplier locations
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, blueprint interpretation, AIAG standards, supplier development, quality and purchasing disciplines.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (excel, word, power point, etc.) and other computer programs as required
- Good organizational skills with completed, ongoing and incoming tasks.
- Possess a strong level of independence to ensure the ability to understand and follow schedules.
- Detail oriented.
- Possess strong problem investigation and problem-solving skill.
- Good supervisory skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years of comparable professional experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards and Company attendance policy.
