Location: Cincinnati, OH
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote
Travel: Regular national travel required (50-75%)
Salary: Competitive base salary of $/yr OTE
Position Overview
A well-established and growing manufacturer within the home organization and building products industry is seeking an experienced Director of National Accounts to join its Sales organization.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, this strategic leadership role will be responsible for developing and growing key national account relationships across both Single Family and Multifamily residential markets
.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales leader with a strong background in national accounts, strategic business development, and executive-level selling. This individual will play a key role in expanding market share by building partnerships with national and regional builders, developers, architects, contractors, dealers, and property management organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national account strategies focused on revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Identify, prioritize, and develop new national account opportunities within Single Family and Multifamily residential markets.
- Build executive-level relationships with national and regional builders, owner/developers, architects, general contractors, remodelers, property management companies, and other industry partners.
- Lead the complete national account sales cycle, including prospecting, relationship development, contract negotiation, specification, implementation, and ongoing account management.
- Develop strategic partnership programs that strengthen brand presence and improve the customer experience.
- Work directly with national customers to understand business objectives and develop joint growth initiatives.
- Partner with regional and territory sales teams to successfully transition national opportunities into local execution.
- Support forecasting, strategic account planning, pipeline development, and territory growth initiatives.
- Participate in executive customer meetings, joint sales calls, product presentations, and strategic planning sessions.
- Strengthen existing dealer relationships while expanding opportunities with builders, developers, architects, and contractors.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop presentations, educational materials, customer resources, and promotional programs supporting national account growth.
- Increase product specifications through relationships with builders, architects, designers, and developers.
- Deliver presentations, Lunch & Learns, educational seminars, executive briefings, and product demonstrations.
- Represent the organization at industry trade shows, conferences, networking events, and association meetings.
- Participate in relevant industry organizations such as NAHB, NMHC, NAA, AIA, and other residential construction and design associations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity tracking, customer information, and pipeline reporting.
- Provide market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive analysis to support broader business and product strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- 7+ years of successful experience in national account management, strategic sales, or business development
. - Experience with in residential construction, building products, home improvement, multifamily, or a related industry strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Single Family and Multifamily residential construction markets.
- Demonstrated success developing executive-level customer relationships and negotiating strategic agreements.
- Experience working with builders, developers, architects, general contractors, dealers, and/or property management organizations highly desirable.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong strategic planning, business development, and opportunity management capabilities.
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and managing complex sales pipelines.
