Position SummaryDrives revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities within the Water and Wastewater market, serving an assigned portfolio of customers and accounts primarily located in the Ohio region. This role combines technical knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and automation systems with strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills to serve both prospective and established customers. The Sales Engineer is the face of CCI to their assigned customers and is accountable for meeting or exceeding established sales targets.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou may be required to perform any or all of the following duties. Additional duties may be assigned.
Sales & Business Development- Prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities through telephone outreach, in-person visits, trade shows, and industry networking events
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, engineers of record, general contractors, and other key stakeholders in the water/wastewater market
- Meet or exceed established sales targets and revenue goals across the assigned book of accounts
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting in CRM systems
- Understand client needs and align CCI’s capabilities (instrumentation, SCADA, panel fabrication, field service) to provide tailored solutions
- Coordinate with Estimating and Engineering teams to develop technically accurate and competitive proposals
- Provide market intelligence and competitive feedback to sales leadership and business development
- Support customer satisfaction by acting as a liaison between the client and CCI project delivery teams
- Assist in defining scope inclusions/exclusions for proposals; collaborate with Estimating on pricing and technical content
- Represent CCI at industry conferences, trade associations, and networking events
Reports to the Sales Manager. Works in close collaboration with the Estimating team, Engineering, and Project Management.

- Demonstrated direct experience in the Water and Wastewater industry
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a technical or solution-selling environment
- Strong customer relationship management and communication skills
- Ability to articulate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-motivated with strong time management and account planning skills
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
Education and ExperienceDemonstrated direct experience in the Water and Wastewater industry with a minimum of four years of experience and college-level instruction in a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Approximately 25% travel to assigned customer sites, engineering firms, and industry events, primarily within the Ohio region. Overnight stays required.
