Essential Functions
  • Serve as the first-line Jazz medical point of contact for clinical, health outcomes, and real‑world evidence, and provide support across therapeutic areas to key national formulary decision‑makers in a manner consistent with Jazz’ principles for scientific engagement.
  • Develop Scientific Account Plans with strategic tactics for key accounts that demonstrate a deep understanding of payer’s population‑management strategies, scientific priorities, evidence needs, decision‑making processes, and clinical perspectives on Jazz products.
  • Build relationships and establish scientific and professional credibility within national managed care organizations, health care systems, government payers, and with other stakeholders involved in formulary management, medication positioning, value discussions and health care policy.
  • Engage in credible and transparent scientific information exchange that resonates with payers when responding to unsolicited requests for clinical, health outcomes and pharmacoeconomic information and proactively communicates HCEI in alignment with the 21st Century Cure’s Act.
  • Provide customer insights to internal teams on key evidence gaps relevant to health care decision makers to guide GHEOR, RWE and Clinical team’s strategic development of impactful value evidence generation and clinical development plans for marketed and pipeline products.
  • Facilitate educational and collaborative research opportunities, and partner with GHEOR and RWE to conduct and publish HEOR and HCEI in alignment with Jazz’ standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners on the development of educational tools and resources (disease state education, payer‑focused slide decks, Medicaid testimony, economic models, etc.) communicated to customers to improve relevant therapeutic area understanding and access to Jazz’ marketed and pipeline products.
  • Implement and execute scientific training for the PVO team and cross‑functional partners (ARM, Field Payer/Market Access teams and HEOR).
  • Collaborate with the Medical Affairs trainer and Medical Science Liaison (MSL) management to provide managed markets training and mentorship for MSLs.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with cross‑functional partners and internal stakeholders and ensure continuous and consistent communication on activities/projects.
  • Represent PVO as the technical/medical payer expert on cross‑functional internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Minimum of 10 years of post‑doctoral relevant scientific work experience in a pharmaceutical industry or managed markets setting (Managed Care/PBM, VA/DoD, CMS, State Medicaid, etc.), payer strategy, clinical practice, outcomes and/or related disciplines, with 3 of these years in a field‑based payer/outcomes role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and maintaining knowledge in multiple therapeutic areas (neurology, hematology and oncology is strongly preferred) and strategic initiatives including health outcomes, quality initiatives, consensus standards, evidence‑based guidelines and health care policy
