Walden Security is currently recruiting experienced Court Security Officers. CSOs will provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract.

• Perform entrance control:
  Enforce the District’s entry and identification system; operate security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items; check items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc.
• Perform roving patrol:
  Patrol court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders.
• Perform stationary post assignments:
  Stand guard at posts including monitoring closed‑circuit television, duress alarm systems and other security equipment; monitor courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms.
• Perform escort duties:
  Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals when directed.
• Perform garage parking and pedestrian control:
  Direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties as described in post orders/ SOPs.
• Enforce law and order:
  Enforce federal law; detain persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to government property or court proceedings; prevent acts that imperil safety and security.
• Prepare reports and records:
  Prepare reports regarding contract performance issues such as labor hours worked, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents or unlawful acts within the court facility.
• Court attendance:
  Secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms prior to proceedings, test security devices, and perform related duties.
• Preserve order:
  Provide security presence in courtrooms, enforce federal law and judicial orders, enforce local court rules, and protect court proceedings as circumstances dictate.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  High school diploma or GED; at least three calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law‑enforcement officer or equivalent (e.g., Master‑at‑Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist); all three years within the last seven years; must include general arrest authority.
• Language
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; interpret, apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record for the past five years; DOJ clearance; completion of a certified federal, state, county, local or military law‑enforcement training academy and ability to provide certification.

  Qualifications:
  
  At least 21 years of age; ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.

  Meet medical standards specified by the USMS; physical demands based on contract; reasonable accommodations may be made.
