Controls Technician - Buffalo Trace Distillery

Job Summary

Controls Technician position at Buffalo Trace Distillery, Frankfort, KY; night shift (6pm-6am) rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule; starting salary $37.06 per hour.

• Skilled performance of all plant electrical duties including PLC & MCC installation and maintenance
• Ensure PLCs, robots, and additional automation is functioning as expected
• Read electrical schematics
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain conduit wire, motors and electrical equipment on 240‑volt, 3‑phase and 440‑volt systems
• Install variable speed drives and troubleshoot electronic control systems including electric eyes and relays
• Program A.B. programmable logic controls
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, clean and maintain machinery, equipment, fixtures, piping and plumbing systems, etc.
• Read blueprints, manuals, drawings, computer screens, sketches and/or oral instructions

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in industrial automation
• Successful maintenance experience with mastery of skills needed to perform everyday maintenance tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility
• Hands‑on experience with electrical, PLC programming and hardware, and equipment troubleshooting
• Ability/Willingness to work second or third shift
• Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem‑solving abilities
• Detail‑oriented and ability to perform work with high degree of accuracy
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic
• Ability to operate industrial equipment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent safety and attendance records
• High School diploma or equivalent

• Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance or Journeyman Electrician
• Manufacturing systems experience
• Rockwell Automation Controls training
• Allen Bradley PLC programming experience
