Salary Range: $28.63 To $34.39 Annually
JOB SUMMARYUnder routine supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of electrical and mechanical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
SHIFT: 12 hour night shift 8p-8:30a. Rotating weeks- 3 days one week, 4 days the next.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on robots, conveyors, programmable controllers, transformers, voltage regulators, and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications; troubleshooting.
- Installs new machines and equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment; using hand tools and test equipment.
- Maintains electrical equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning machines and equipment. Replaces faulty components of machines and equipment, diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components of machines and equipment., replaces electric motor bearings and connects motors; may diagram and repair faulty mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Programs automated machinery and equipment to test for malfunctions and to verify repairs; may plan layout of wiring and install wiring conduit and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Thorough knowledge of company philosophy, policies, and procedures related to safety, environmental protection, and quality control.
- Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to distinguish colors to identify color coded wiring, equipment, and safety devices.
- Knowledge of industrial A.C. and D.C. drive systems, PLC's, PC's and electronic control systems.
- Must be familiar with N.E.C. requirements.
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to reach above and below shoulder height.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to perform all physical motions, i.e., twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and walking on uneven ground.
- Knowledge and experience in motors; digital electronics; schematics & print reading; control circuits; power supply & distribution; AC/DC Theory; test instruments; computers and PLC's; hand & power tools; tack welding; construction, distribution & installation; safety lock-out & tag-out procedures.
Education and Experience Required
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electrical/electronic technology. In lieu of technical school, will also consider military training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in a heavy manufacturing plant. Must have experience with ladder logic, PLC's and the electrical code. Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
WORKING CONDITIONSDaily exposure to the extremes of temperature, noise, dust, and vibration of plant processing equipment, forklift traffic, and oily/wet production floors.
