Advisor Software Engineer

Overview

A Senior Software Engineer role in Apple's Technology Development Group (TDG) focuses on building lead‑edge AR/VR applications for the next generation interactive computing platforms.

• Own the architecture and execution of complex, new features across Apple platforms.
• Lead the design, development and delivery of user‑facing services and applications that delight millions of users.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (Human Interface teams, Framework teams, etc.) to design, ship and scale applications.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, including test‑driven development, continuous integration and code quality.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering groups.

• Extensive experience building and shipping complex consumer applications on mobile, web or gaming platforms.
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices (object‑oriented, functional, declarative UIs, test‑driven development).
• Solid foundations in computer science and the ability to apply them to real‑world problems.
• Detail‑oriented planning and execution with excellent communication skills.
• Experience driving results in a fast, agile organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; BS/MS/PhD and/or equivalent preferred.

• Apple development frameworks and technologies (Swift, Objective‑C, SwiftUI, UIKit).
• Rendering APIs such as Reality Kit and Metal.
• ARKit and game‑engine design for 3D rendering.
• Linear algebra/3D math foundations.
• Prototyping user‑facing features with designers.
• Designing and creating enjoyable user experiences.
• Mentoring or providing technical leadership to engineering groups.

Base salary ranges from $115,000–$217,500, depending on skills, qualifications, experience and location.
