By joining our Department of Aviation, Capital City Airport Division, Aircraft Maintenance Branch asan Aviation Mechanic Inspector II in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of aviation maintenance professionals while overseeing the quality control process for a diverse fleet of aircraft. This role is ideal for an experienced aviation professional who is passionate about safety,precision, and leadership.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Supervises Aircraft maintenance Operations and Airworthiness Compliance.
• Leads and Develops Maintenance Personnel.
• Manages Quality Control and Inspection Processes.
• Plans and Manages Maintenance Programs, Scheduling and Resources.
• Ensures Safe, Efficient, and Customer-Focused Aviation Support.

Ideal candidate will have experience in:

• Experience in powerplant and airframe repair on aircraft.
• Supervision of mechanics or flight personnel.
• Adherence to Federal Regulation on Aircraft Maintenance.
• Maintaining proper logbooks, parts inventory and Federal Aviation Administration publication library.
• Operating an aircraft tug, forklift or tractor.

No two days are ever the same. You work directly supports safe aircraft operations for state agencies and critical government missions across Kentucky.

Additional position information:
This position is performed in an active airfield environment and requires working in all weather conditions.

While the majority of work is conducted inside a maintenance hangar, occasional field support may be required,including travel to assist with aircraft experiencing mechanical issues or requiring emergency repairs. The position is physically active and requires the ability to stand for extended periods, climb, stoop, bend,reach, and work in confined or tight spaces while performing aircraft maintenance tasks.
