Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, compliance, and process improvement initiatives while partnering with both domestic and international stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, leveraging technology, and contributing to a collaborative finance organization.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare internal and external financial reporting packages.
- Support the preparation of financial information for lenders, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Manage accounting and reporting activities related to financing and vendor partnership programs, including maintaining supporting schedules, preparing invoices, and monitoring receivable activity.
- Assist with the accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of international subsidiaries and affiliated entities.
- Collaborate with international accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Participate in annual financial statement audits and bank field audits.
- Support the Controller with financial analyses, special projects, and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Coordinate with third-party providers to support sales and use tax compliance.
- Review and reconcile sales tax filings to internal accounting records.
- Maintain tax records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and submit use tax payments.
- Assist with tax registrations and other compliance initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of technology and AI-enabled tools to enhance accounting workflows and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- ERP system experience required;
Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience is a plus. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with sales and use tax compliance is preferred.
- Interest in leveraging automation and AI to improve accounting operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with international operations, foreign subsidiaries, or multi-currency accounting is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
