Strategic Pricing Director (Must be onsite 4 days/week in NJ)
A leading global medical technology company is hiring a Strategic Pricing Director to advance and embed value-based pricing across its business units. You'll lead cross‑business initiatives, pricing governance, analytics, and change management to drive sustainable, profitable growth across a global Med Tech portfolio.
This role will define and serve as the bridge between pricing and the sales team in a fast‑paced consumables environment. It will involve significant change management, high contract volume, and complex pricing dynamics.
This is currently an individual contributor role, but strong leadership capability will be essential.
While part of the Global Pricing Team, the role is focused on the U.S. market and will drive the overall pricing strategy across all business units.
What you'll do- Design and deploy value‑based pricing frameworks across consumables, capital equipment, software‑enabled solutions, and services
- Partner with R&D, Innovation, and Portfolio Management to embed pricing early — from concept through launch and lifecycle optimization
- Strengthen enterprise pricing governance (decision rights, escalation models, standards) and operationalize a measurement framework with standardized KPIs and reporting cadence
- Drive adoption of pricing methodologies and analytics (SePVA, willingness‑to‑pay, price waterfall, realization/leakage) and build dashboards in tools like Power BI / Minitab
- Apply Lean / continuous improvement principles (standard work, DMS, Kaizen) to pricing processes
- Serve as a trusted pricing advisor to global and regional leadership across Commercial, Marketing, and Finance
- Build pricing capability enterprise‑wide through training, playbooks, and best‑practice sharing
- Bachelor's in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years in strategic pricing, value management, or commercial strategy
- Proven value‑based pricing implementation in complex, multi‑business, global organizations
- Strong ability to influence across functions without direct authority
- Familiarity with health economics, reimbursement dynamics, and customer value outcomes
- Change management leadership across a global matrix
- Advanced analytics capability with executive‑ready storytelling
- Commercial acumen in medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, or healthcare
