As a member of the BD Pharmaceutical Advanced Drug Delivery Systems (ADDS) business, you will contribute to the rapid scale‑up of a new business platform that will be a key driver of BD’s future growth. This role sits on a New Product Development team and involves leading or participating in design and development from concept to commercial launch, with a focus on technical activities including designing, optimizing, analyzing, prototyping, testing and validating products of moderate scope/complexity.

Job Duties Include

• Provide solid technical engineering skill.
• Lead and/or contribute to the completion of programs and projects in a design control environment.
• Set and adjust priorities for self and contribute to team planning.
• Ensure compliance with BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through communication, training, and education of sound quality assurance principles.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Project Responsibilities

• Product development: plan, implement, monitor and deliver tasks; solve technical problems; participate in periodic design reviews.
• Technology transfer: participate in transition from research to development to manufacturing.
• Process effectiveness: ensure appropriate processes are followed for engaging related parties in project activities.
• Innovation: provide technical solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practical.
• Customer focus: understand customer needs to drive relevant and innovative product development.
• Continuous learning: pursue training to improve skills and share lessons learned; promote learning.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant medical device product design & development experience or equivalent.
• Experience with structured, phase-gated product development processes.
• Experience identifying and prioritizing customer needs and requirements.
• Understanding of tightly controlled, high‑volume manufacturing considerations.
• Experience with all phases of Design Control and requirements management, including design verification strategies.
• Technical leadership on cross‑functional product development teams; experience with R&D work streams.
• Strong knowledge of medical device risk management methodologies.
• Proficiency in statistical data analysis and Design for Six Sigma.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, influence, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• ME/MS in Mechanical, Materials Science, or Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines.
• CSWP Certified Solid Works Professional.
