Summary:
The Senior EHS Manager manages the implementation, operation, and coordination of environmental and safety programs to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, local, Corporate, Divisional and plant regulations. Develops and implements plant programs, policies and procedures related to preventing job related injuries and illnesses. The position may be located at Franklin Lakes or one of the DCs across North America.

Responsibilities- Manage EHS Specialist to ensure the administration of all site health, safety and environmental programs at local site.
- Support the NASC site leads by maintaining a strong dotted line reporting relationship for all the EHS specialists in the network; providing guidance, coaching and development.
- Support GSC EHS by reporting on and following up with metrics across the network.
- Manage BD Excellence EHS component structure and ensure all sites are compliant across NASC.
- Manage compliance to all federal, state, and local regulations to include permitting registration and application documents.
- Prepare and submit regulatory agencies permits, registrations, and reports while ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provide periodic review and updates to written safety and environmental program policies and procedures relating to preventing job related illness and injury, including SOPs, Work Instructions (WIs), and the site’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
- Provides project support by developing protocols assisting in process development and product evaluation, assisting in the evaluation of new chemicals and compounds, and the associated methods to mitigate exposure.
- Participates in and monitor site processes, site incident investigations, inspections, audits, process safety, training, and behavior safety.
- Conduct internal audits of the EHS systems on an ongoing basis to ensure systems are robust and continuously improving.
- Review and manage any regulatory compliance questions/issues and/or reporting concerns, as they arise, and bring to the attention of other departments when applicable.
- Responsible for compiling and submitting monthly departmental reports and a variety of reports designed to measure performance.
- Maintains key performance indicator data and dashboards and acts upon analysis of leading and lagging indicators to countermeasure root cause issues mitigating risks.
- Develops local EHS department budget.
- May require off-shift and/or weekend work. Needs to be on-call 24/7.
- Manage regulatory and EHS requirements at the sites. Preferred experience/knowledge of EtO compliance and medical monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of principles and methods for distribution of product.
- Strong knowledge of GMP/SOP/Work Instructions and able to develop techniques to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, emergency response programs, safety committees, and audit programs.
- SME (Subject Matter Expert) in EPA, OSHA, NFPA, and other safety regulations.
- Able to train to all levels of employees on a variety of safety topics.
- Able to critically review, analyze, synthesize, compare, and interpret information and apply this when solving problems.
- Superior communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Able to exercise tact, maturity and judgment when dealing with employees and visitors/vendors.
