Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Becton, Dickinson and Company. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data infrastructure and pipelines, leveraging cutting‑edge Azure technologies to support our data‑driven initiatives. You will ensure data quality, compliance, and efficient data flow across our systems.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft Azure Databricks and other Azure services.
- Implement and manage data infrastructure within the Azure cloud environment, including Data Lake solutions.
- Utilize Databricks Platform and Databricks Unity Catalog for data governance, metadata management, and data sharing.
- Develop and maintain Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate data solutions.
- Ensure data solutions adhere to compliance standards, particularly SOX (Sarbanes‑Oxley Act) regulations.
- Implement and manage Dev Ops practices and tools, including Azure Dev Ops and Azure Dev Ops Server, for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of data solutions.
- Contribute to the implementation of Dev Sec Ops practices to ensure the security of data infrastructure and pipelines.
- Work with Big Data technologies to process and analyze large datasets efficiently.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Big Data and cloud‑based data solutions.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure Databricks, including Databricks Platform and Databricks Unity Catalog.
- Strong proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) for complex data manipulation.
- Extensive experience with Azure Dev Ops and Azure Dev Ops Server for CI/CD and version control.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Data Infrastructure design and implementation, including Data Lake architectures.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOX.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops principles and practices.
- Solid understanding of Windows Azure Cloud services and architecture.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
