We are looking for a Cost Accountant Lead to join our growing team in Franklin Park, IL. This role will ensure ongoing analysis of local production performance and efficiencies and will manage a direct report.

• Budget preparation: assist the Plant Controller, perform cost center and pool analysis, input data in SAP, and execute the budget cost run, ensuring data accuracy.
• Product costing: prepare material standard costs for new codes and perform cost calculations and transfer pricing for new products.
• Industrial costs/analysis: analyze progress and variances of resources used in production (materials, labor, overtime) and prepare corresponding reports.
• Month-end: liaise with Maintenance, Administration, and Central teams to meet close timelines; ensure monthly costs are posted and accruals are made; execute month-end close procedures; perform assessments and troubleshooting with IT/Central functions as needed.
• Monthly variances: create a database for variances, analyze and report variances, and support action plans to reduce variances.
• Capex & fixed assets register: monitor and report on capital project WIP; perform SAP activities to maintain capex WBS; keep asset register up to date with asset changes.
• Reporting: prepare internal weekly reports, budget progress reports (OVH, energy, depreciation, destructions, etc.), and the month-end reporting package; demonstrate knowledge of SAP, Excel, and production processes; apply costing principles; maintain inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.

Salary and benefits
:
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other legally permitted factors.
