Machine Operator - Extrusion - Night Shift
Overview
We are hiring Extrusion Operators for our Franklin Park location. If you have at least one year of experience operating Extrusion or Thermoforming machines, enjoy working with your hands, can solve mechanical issues as they arise, and are eager to grow your career, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Compensation
- Starting range from $21.32 up to $26.93 per hour based on experience

Hours 7 PM to 7 AM with every other weekend off.

Responsibilities
- Consistently and safely operate machines at or above standard levels of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization
- Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine‑related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine
- Provide innovative solutions for production issues
- Support and guide less experienced personnel
- Complete appropriate end‑of‑shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
- Inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects
- Observe all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills and effective written and verbal communication
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as an Extrusion Machine Operator
- Experience and willingness to work 12‑hour rotating schedules, including every other weekend
- Ability to arrive for work before the shift and be prepared to get the day going on time
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting experience with Extrusion Machines
- Excellent communication skills, detailed record‑keeping per the prescribed frequency
- Analytical and math skills
- Ability to perform quality checks and understand production measurement tools
- Knowledge of product quality standards
- Comfortable wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard‑nets, steel‑toed shoes/boots, ear protection and bump‑caps when required
- Manual dexterity
