Overview

The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping the facility running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position handles day-to-day maintenance and repair of equipment, building systems, and production machinery, while ensuring all work meets EPA, OSHA, and Hazmat safety standards.

Job Duties
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance on industrial electrical power systems, basic controls, and processing equipment.
  • Diagnose and service vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
  • Support the installation and setup of new processing and packaging equipment under direct supervision.
  • Use hand tools and machine shop equipment to measure, cut, drill, and fabricate components within required tolerances.
  • Weld stainless steel and carbon steel as needed for equipment and structural repairs.
  • Execute preventative maintenance activities and document completed work accurately.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, including building repairs and grounds upkeep.
  • Read and interpret basic electrical schematics, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Follow all food manufacturing GMPs and safety protocols at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and facility operations.
Qualifications
  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related trade.
  • Experience in a meat or food manufacturing environment is highly valuable; familiarity with USDA/FSIS regulations is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply math concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to real-world tasks.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work from written, verbal, diagrammed, or scheduled instructions.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe, collaborative work environment.
