Job Overview

Omni-Pump Repairs is looking for a dedicated and experienced Field Pump Mechanic to join our team in Franklin Park, IL. In this role, you’ll work on‑site and in the field to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of pumping systems that serve our clients across commercial, industrial, and government sectors. With 45 years of trusted service and a reputation for reliability—including working alongside the Army Corps of Engineers during the COVID‑19 pandemic—Omni‑Pump offers a meaningful and secure career for skilled tradespeople looking to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, service, and maintain a range of pumps, including horizontal split‑case, end‑suction, base‑mounted, double‑suction centrifugal, submersible, and turbine models.
  • Inspect and test pump systems and controls for performance and safety.
  • Dismantle, clean, and reassemble pumps and related components.
  • Identify and replace worn parts (bearings, seals, impellers, etc.).
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Operate mechanical tools and service trucks while observing strict safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with teammates to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Accurately complete documentation and service reports.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • 3+ years of hands‑on experience working with pumps and motors.
    • Proficiency in pump system diagnostics and repair.
    • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and mechanical schematics.
    • Solid problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of AC/DC motors and control systems.
    • Familiarity with water system shutdown protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
    • Certification in mechanical maintenance or related trade training.

Schedule
  • Full‑Time:
    Monday‑Friday
  • 8‑hour shifts with availability for overtime and occasional weekend work
