- Provide counseling and guidance services to promote student development and achievement.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to student needs, issues, and problems.
- Use data to advise students on academics, course selections, schedules, and other academic matters.
- Oversee the building’s PBIS program and lead the steering committee.
- Serve on the district PBIS team.
- Assess student needs and support the development of personal, vocational, and educational goals, creating individual student plans accordingly.
- Provide responsive services via consultation, personal counseling, group counseling, and crisis counseling; refer families to school and community resources.
- Coordinate, conduct, and participate in school activities such as FIT, after‑school supervision, day and evening programs, year‑end awards, and extra‑curricular programs.
- Evaluate student educational needs and recommend placement, credit, and course requirements; assist with class registration, scheduling, and program changes.
- Attend professional learning activities as directed.
- Adhere to Indiana Program Standards for School Counseling.
- Perform related duties assigned by the Administrator to meet building/unit needs and contribute to district cross‑functional teams.
- Assist in administering standardized tests, surveys, and data interpretation for students, parents, and staff.
- Valid school counseling license.
- Experience working with elementary‑aged children.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
- Teaching and counseling experience via internship or counseling position.
- Excellent communication skills.
