ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide counseling and guidance services to promote student development and achievement.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to student needs, issues, and problems.
  • Use data to advise students on academics, course selections, schedules, and other academic matters.
  • Oversee the building’s PBIS program and lead the steering committee.
  • Serve on the district PBIS team.
  • Assess student needs and support the development of personal, vocational, and educational goals, creating individual student plans accordingly.
  • Provide responsive services via consultation, personal counseling, group counseling, and crisis counseling; refer families to school and community resources.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and participate in school activities such as FIT, after‑school supervision, day and evening programs, year‑end awards, and extra‑curricular programs.
  • Evaluate student educational needs and recommend placement, credit, and course requirements; assist with class registration, scheduling, and program changes.
  • Attend professional learning activities as directed.
  • Adhere to Indiana Program Standards for School Counseling.
  • Perform related duties assigned by the Administrator to meet building/unit needs and contribute to district cross‑functional teams.
  • Assist in administering standardized tests, surveys, and data interpretation for students, parents, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid school counseling license.
  • Experience working with elementary‑aged children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
  • Teaching and counseling experience via internship or counseling position.
  • Excellent communication skills.
