Process Engineer
Lead small process improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and overall process stability.
Provide effective troubleshooting and support for manufacturing processes, responding promptly to production issues and manufacturing needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of new processes and equipment, ensuring they integrate smoothly into existing operations.
Compile, standardize, and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process sheets, and recipes.
Deliver training on standardized documents and procedures to production and support teams to ensure consistent execution.
Maintain customer-specific reports and product build documentation to support traceability and compliance.
Support plant improvement teams and events, contributing engineering expertise to cross-functional initiatives.
Perform improvement audits to identify opportunities for process optimization and to verify adherence to established standards.
Collaborate closely with other engineers and departments, providing assistance on projects and sharing best practices in process engineering.
Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of responsibilities and effective prioritization.
Apply project management principles to plan, execute, and monitor improvement activities and equipment implementation.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting focused on troubleshooting processes and responding to manufacturing needs.
3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, and process engineering in an industrial environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of industrial manufacturing and process troubleshooting, including process control and continuous improvement.
Experience in manufacturing engineering, including development and maintenance of work instructions, process sheets, and recipes.
Project management experience related to manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve process and equipment issues.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with cross-functional teams and document technical information clearly.
Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient after receiving direction, without the need for constant oversight.
Proven ability to collaborate and cooperate effectively with various departments.
Demonstrated initiative, ingenuity, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities efficiently.
Professional demeanor that includes treating colleagues with respect and providing exceptional internal customer service.
Experience working in a continuous improvement environment focused on process optimization and efficiency gains.
Experience leading or managing a manufacturing engineering team.
Experience in machining or working with manufacturing equipment and tooling.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and audits.
Experience compiling and maintaining customer-specific reports and product build documentation.
Interest in expanding responsibilities into project management and advanced manufacturing process development.
This role supports a manufacturing and is 100% onsite in an industrial manufacturing setting with climate-controlled areas. You will work on first shift, Monday through Friday, with a consistent schedule of approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and minimal overtime, typically totaling about 40 to 45 hours per week. The role involves frequent interaction on the production floor with manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling, as well as collaboration with plant improvement teams and engineering staff.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, IN.
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $44.23/hr.
