MS Companies is partnering with an established manufacturing organization in Franklin, Indiana, to hire an experienced Supply Chain Manager for a direct-hire leadership opportunity.
This position will oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, supplier development, material planning, inventory control, and logistics. The Supply Chain Manager will lead a team of supply chain professionals while developing strategies to improve supplier performance, material availability, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, cost, and overall operational performance.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of progressive supply chain experience
, including ERP-based planning, purchasing/procurement, production control, and logistics. - Demonstrated experience leading supply chain activities within a high-mix, low-volume and/or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
. - Proven experience with supplier sourcing and development, RFQs, contract negotiations, commodity strategy, and supplier performance management
. - Strong background in inventory management, material planning, production support, and supply/demand planning with a focus on on-time delivery and inventory optimization.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing employees, including buyers, planners, material handlers, or similar supply chain functions.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
, with demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement. - Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and change-management skills with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Power BI, Word, and Power Point .
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous supply chain or operations experience within aerospace, defense, automotive, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
. - Familiarity with regulated quality systems, product traceability requirements, and industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality-management systems
. - Experience sourcing specialized components through established suppliers, distributors, brokers, or industry-specific supply networks.
- APICS/ASCM CPIM certification or comparable supply chain credential.
- ISM C.P.M. or comparable purchasing/procurement certification.
- MBA, master’s degree, or other advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with Quantum or a comparable ERP/MRP system

- Lead end-to-end procurement, material planning, inventory, supplier management, and logistics activities to support customer and production requirements.
- Develop and execute supplier strategies, including sourcing, RFQs, negotiations, make/buy decisions, supplier development, and performance management.
- Oversee inventory control and material planning activities, including stock levels, cycle counts, allocation, shelf-life management, and material availability.
- Manage supply and demand planning to support productive factory workflow, customer on-time delivery, revenue requirements, and effective inventory utilization.
- Lead, coach, and develop supply chain personnel, including buyers, planners, and material-handling functions, while establishing measurable performance objectives.
- Monitor and improve supplier and operational KPIs related to quality, delivery, cost, inventory, safety, and productivity
. - Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, sales, and other internal stakeholders to translate customer demand into actionable supply chain and production plans.
- Identify constraints, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous-improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction.
This is an on-site leadership position within a manufacturing environment. The role requires regular interaction with office, production, inventory, and material-handling functions and may involve sitting, standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods.
Travel: Up to 10%.
