Title
Machine Operator
Responsibilities- Work from a production schedule within the work area
- Randomly check product every hour to ensure customer specifications are met
- Monitor flow of product into processing machinery
- Tend machines such as palletizers, case packers, injection machines and box machines to maintain product flow
- Work at different work stations as production needs require
- Work on lines where tasks vary as product moves along lines
- Check finished product for possible defects
- Wear all required personal protective equipment
- Assure and participate in all plant safety/accident prevention policies
- Maintain housekeeping of work areas
- Follow all HACCP, GMP and Product Safety rules and guidelines
- Train current and new members of the department to perform job related tasks as needed
- Learn new on the job skills as training opportunities become available
- Any other tasks that may be assigned
- Attend monthly shift meetings at 6am for day shift or 6pm for night shift
- High school diploma or general education degree; or at least one year manufacturing related experience and/or training or equivalent combination
- Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers; ability to print and speak simple sentences
- Must be able to manipulate product with both hands, both above and below shoulder height; stand on a solid surface for a minimum of twelve (12) hours; ascend and descend stairs and ladders; frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds; demonstrate repetitive motion with a pallet jack and push/pull up to seven hundred (700) pounds throughout the day (12 hour shift);
perform job functions in temperatures of one hundred plus degrees during summer season and fifty degrees during winter season
