Assists Maintenance, Quality, and Production in the setup, profiling and start of both new and existing bottles. Troubleshoots existing profile‑related bottle problems. Assist in developing blow mold operators' profiling skills and problem solving techniques. Enters requisitions for replacement tooling, molds, and change parts to ensure optimized molding performance. Cleans, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains blow mold tooling, molds, and change parts.
Leads changeover, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting activities related to process control. Ensure all new bottles have documented BICs and existing BICs are kept up to date. Works closely with quality department personnel to review and utilize statistical process control data to identify and drive process control improvement activities. Manages BICs in the Facilities Management System. Verify maintenance coworkers have properly completed a change over using mechanical setup sheets;
provide feedback and guidance to maintenance on proper machine set up to ensure BIC parameters will work; document setup sheets of new bottles; profile and document BICs as required on new bottles; update mechanical set up sheets as needed. Assist production in profiling existing bottles from BICs. Assist production and quality in solving reoccurring defects caused by improper profiles. Develop and maintain progressive training in blow molding theory and application.
Identifies, plans, and conducts or coordinates technical training for plant employees (examples to include GMP, SOPs, FCDs, machine operations, processing, and lockout/tagout). Actively practices 5S to organize tooling, molds, change parts, and other items in the work area, in order to achieve acceptable housekeeping standards. Complete other assignments as directed by Management.
Job Requirements:
Two to five years of experience in blow molding; preferably processing PET materials. Working knowledge of the processing of blow‑molded PET heat‑set containers. Strong machine/mechanical knowledge. Knowledge of operation and mechanical downstream equipment preferred. Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts; including call‑ins and weekends as needed to support production changeovers and start‑ups. Working knowledge of the processing of blow‑molded PET heat‑set containers.
Previous operating and profiling experience with Sidel machines. Krones machine experience is helpful. Working knowledge of practical experience with quality product specifications and control methods. Ability to work independently, solve problems, make decisions, and drive effective, sustainable solutions.
