Job Summary:

MS Companies is partnering with a growing FAA-certified manufacturer in Franklin, Indiana, to hire Bench Mechanics (Metal Fabricators) for its production team. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals looking to build a long-term career in aerospace manufacturing. Working in a precision, FAA-regulated environment, you'll support the cleaning, testing, inspection, and preparation of aircraft engine components while receiving hands‑on training in aerospace duct fabrication and repair.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, follows detailed processes, takes pride in producing quality work, and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, fabrication, warehouse, or other hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use basic hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written work instructions.
  • Reliable attendance, positive work ethic, and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to successfully pass an FAA‑regulated drug screen and background check.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Metal fabrication or bench mechanic experience.
  • Mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Experience performing pressure testing or quality inspections.
  • Bead blasting, polishing, deburring, or metal finishing experience.
  • Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Perform air and water pressure testing on tubes, ducts, and manifolds.
  • Operate production cleaning equipment and component cleaning processes.
  • Conduct visual inspections using fixtures and established quality standards.
  • Perform bead blasting, polishing, deburring, and basic metal finishing operations.
  • Follow engineering process routings and detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • Ensure all work meets FAA, customer, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Properly handle, label, and dispose of production materials and hazardous materials.
  • Assist with packaging, shipping, fixture retrieval, and general production support as needed.
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Physical expectations and working conditions include:

  • Standing and walking throughout the workday in a manufacturing environment.
  • Regular lifting of materials and components up to 25 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands and hand tools.
  • Working within an FAA‑regulated aerospace manufacturing facility.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Fast‑paced, team‑oriented production environment with occasional approved overtime.
