Job Summary

Are you a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in behavioral health and substance use recovery? Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) and provide high-quality nursing care across a variety of service settings including residential facilities, crisis centers, outpatient clinics, substance use treatment programs, primary care environments, and community-based services.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services that support the physical and mental health needs of clients while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams. Your expertise will help ensure safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused care for individuals across the continuum of services.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Assessment & Care Coordination
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments per service line requirements.
  • Evaluate clients’ physical condition and determine appropriate care needs.
  • Record medical histories, complete required screenings, and monitor vital signs.
  • Monitor client health status throughout services and update care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to coordinate integrated care plans.
  • Develop action plans addressing both physical and mental health needs.
Medication Management & Monitoring
  • Administer and oversee medication administration according to service line and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor medication compliance and side effects using standardized evaluations.
  • Review physician orders and coordinate treatment modifications requiring education.
  • Consult with physicians, advanced practice providers, and pharmacies regarding prescriptions.
  • Oversee therapeutic injections (subcutaneous and intramuscular).
  • Monitor lab values and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Coordinate medication assistance programs, including indigent drug programs.
Procedures & Medical Support
  • Assist physicians/advanced practice providers during client exams.
  • Perform lab draws and special procedures as requested.
  • Arrange medical appointments and manage emergent medical situations, including drug reactions and injuries.
  • Monitor and support infectious disease control and facility health practices.
Education & Prevention
  • Provide health education including disease prevention and risk reduction.
  • Educate clients and guardians on medication adherence and treatment plans.
  • Support dietary planning related to medical conditions.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within established time frames.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, nursing standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by program leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles related to mental health and substance use treatment.
  • Ability to assess, triage, and manage individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and related documentation systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced, changing environments.
Education and Experience Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
