ICU Nurse
Job Description:
Join a specialized ICU team working on a unit equipped with 12 beds—comprising both CCU and PCU sections. This role involves managing critically ill patients diagnosed with sepsis, respiratory distress, OD/ETOH withdrawal, or DKA, with a focus on titrating drips such as Levophed, insulin, dopamine, and heparin. Your responsibilities include reading strips, adjusting titratable medications, and collaborating closely with charge nurses and house supervisors.
Expect to work 12‑hour night shifts over a 13‑week assignment, with self‑scheduling for a six‑week cycle and a commitment of 36 hours per week. The unit maintains a ratio of 1:2 in CCU and 1:3‑4 in PCU, with ventilators, CPAP, Bi‑PAP, and oximizers readily available. Prior ER experience is a plus for floating requirements, and all staff participate in general orientation plus two days on the unit to ensure seamless integration.
This assignment offers a chance to sharpen critical‑care skills in a supportive environment.
