Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN PRN Weekends

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
  • Administer medications
  • Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed
  • Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed
  • Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider
  • Perform 14-day physicals
  • Manage chronic care
  • Provide patient education on health concerns
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including life‑saving measures and leading in emergencies
  • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including medication reactions, overdose, formulary/non‑formulary medications, and medication costs
  • Provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed
  • Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations

Johnson County Jail

6AM‑6PM or 6PM‑6AM PRN weekends with opportunity to pick up shifts outside of weekends if desired.

• Valid LPN licensure
• Valid CPR certification
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
