Emergency Medicine
Job Description
This 13-week travel contract places you in an Emergency Department with a capacity of 26 beds, including trauma bays and treatment areas. You’ll be working 12-hour night shifts, providing critical support during the overnight hours. Your role involves managing a variety of cases such as abdominal pain, altered mental status, chest pain, and strokes, often across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.
You will perform IV insertions, interpret EKG rhythms, and assist with respiratory treatments, including vent management. The environment requires quick thinking and efficiency, especially as ED nurses triage patients in the department without a separate triage area. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians, mid-level providers, RTs, and lab staff, while managing an average of 60 patients daily. Punctuality and full commitment are essential to ensuring smooth operations during your shift, as you become an integral part of this fast-paced emergency team.
