Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team in a global leading supplier of magnet wire. The role involves working in the magnet wire testing laboratory, focusing on quality assurance and research and development. The individual will perform quality tests on magnet wire, ensuring adherence to specifications and supporting various departments in quality management.
Responsibilities
* Complete quality tests of magnet wire for quality specifications, investigation, design proposals, R&D, improvement, and performance.
* Conduct testing on QA and experimental runs, action requests, and sample orders.
* Assist in preparing magnet wire enamels, thinners, and lubricants.
* Perform inspection and analysis of raw materials and chemical products to assure adherence to specifications.
* Execute tests that require meticulous attention to detail.
* Read, understand, and follow detailed instructions; perform testing; enter and present data; prepare reports or charts to report test results.
* Use chemical testing equipment and measuring instruments effectively.
* Assist technicians, engineers, and management to analyze, solve, and correct problems.
* Utilize computer programs, quality systems, and tools, actively participating in the quality management system.
* Follow all procedures, methods, and guidelines to assure quality, safety, and production goals are met.
* Maintain accurate records and data for company reports.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to give and receive information while maintaining positive working relationships.
Essential Skills
* High School Diploma required;
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.
* 1+ years of GMP experience.
* 1+ years of experience within quality and quality control lab tech roles.
* 1+ years of experience with basic laboratory techniques.
* Ability to work a 12-hour schedule.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient knowledge of computers.
* Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO/QS/TS).
* High attention to detail, organizational skills, and above-average mechanical skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment
The position offers a 1st shift schedule from 8am-8pm on a 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend off, including training on the 1st shift M-F. The role provides hands-on training and opportunities to grow within the organization. Work is conducted within multiple plants throughout the Fort Wayne area, providing areas to grow your career. The team is small and cohesive, providing opportunities to learn from experienced lab technicians with over 30 years of experience and to potentially take over roles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.11 - $21.11/hr.
