Role Description

The Business Development Specialist is a full-time, on‑site role based in Franklin, IN. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with prospective and existing customers, and supporting long‑term growth in target industries such as medical devices, RF/microwave, agriculture, and optical. Day‑to‑day activities include researching market segments, managing a sales pipeline, preparing proposals and quotations, coordinating customer visits, and partnering with internal teams to align customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities.

The Business Development Specialist will also support contract negotiations, track performance metrics, participate in trade shows or industry events, and provide regular reporting on market trends and competitive activity.

Qualifications
  • Experience in business development, sales, or account management within manufacturing or related industries, with strong skills in prospecting, pipeline management, and relationship building.
  • Knowledge of contract manufacturing, CNC machining, and/or medical device, RF/microwave, agriculture, or optical markets, with the ability to understand technical requirements and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office applications, and basic data analysis to track opportunities, prepare proposals, and generate customer and market reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, negotiate commercial terms, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Prior experience working with ISO‑certified, FDA‑regulated, or ITAR‑compliant organizations is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
