Job Overview
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience through meticulous vehicle assessment and high‑quality repairs to restore vehicles to pre‑accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles and plays a pivotal role in the company’s promise of speed, quality and customer excellence.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Use various tools (cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers) to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammer out dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
- Replace or repair glass and windshields.
- Replace or repair interior parts.
- Weld and attach parts as required.
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or an equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
- Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correct execution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Skills and Abilities
- Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with other repairers in the shop.
- Understand methods and procedures for vehicle body repair.
- Understand use of required tools.
- Work safely in a noisy area with odors.
- Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.
Annual salary: $75,000+ depending on flagged hours per week.
