Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher - Franklin Middle School Position Type:

Building Principal Salary: $200.00 per day

General Description:

The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced long term substitute special education teacher at Franklin Middle School. The teacher will work in an inclusive model of service delivery offering co-teaching support in the general education classrooms combined with some pull out specialized instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities.

Key

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs;

* Actively co-teach in assigned general education classes

* Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems;

* Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for caseload students;

* Write comprehensive progress reports;

* Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications;

* Communicate regularly with families of students on caseload;

* Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree preferred;

* Must have a Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education;

* Excellent writing and communication skills required

* Experience in public school setting

* Able to take initiative and work independently

* Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
