Job Description The role of the Special Education Teacher is to provide special education services to students. The Special Education Teacher plans, organizes and implements an appropriate, comprehensive instructional program in a supportive and collaborative learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic, social and emotional potential.BFCCPS opened in 1995 as one of the first Charter Schools in Massachusetts. As a K-8 school, our mission is to assist parents in their role as primary educators of their children by providing students with a classical academic education coupled with sound character development and community service.

- - BA required
- Candidates are required to have passed the Communication and Literacy MTEL and Foundations of Reading MTEL
- Special Education licensure in MA strongly preferred
- 1 year relevant experience in an inclusion setting strongly preferred
- Possesses a strong belief that all students can learn and be successful in school
- Demonstrates a mindset that focuses on assets & growth, as opposed to deficits
- Willingness to try various approaches, depending on student need
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with general education teachers, other special education staff and other colleagues in a professional manner
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Utilize data and reflection to drive instruction, plan for supports and interventions, and improve lesson plans
- Experience using online resources and other technologies to enhance learning - At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
