Extended School Year - Wilson Instructor/Ortin Gillingham Instructor Position Type:

July 6 to August 6, 2026

Washington Street Schools/Franklin Middle School

Reports to:

Building Principal Salary: $50.00 per hour Successful applicant must be available for the full duration of the program

General Description:

As part of its special education programming, Extended School Year (ESY) Services are provided to eligible students. Franklin offers a number of ESY programs from preschool through high school. Extended School Year services are provided to students who meet one or more of the criteria for such services as outlined in special education law. Typically, eligible students require services because they have demonstrated or are likely to demonstrate substantial regression in his/her learning skills and/or substantial difficulty relearning such skills if an extended year program is not provided.

Overview of Responsibilities:

* 1:1 and small group for maintenance of skills

* Create daily lesson plans

* Communicate with parents

* Write student progress reports at end of summer

Qualifications:

Must have Wilson Certification

* Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
